Part II: Eating My Way Through Atlanta, BlogHer Food 2011

In my first post about my trip to Atlanta for the BlogHer Food 2011 conference May 20 and May 21, I talked about how I attended as a member of the blogging community on behalf of our sister brands, RecipeLion.com, FaveDiets.com, MrFood.com, AllFreeSlowCookerRecipes.com, AllFreeChickenCasseroleRecipes.com and AllFreeCopycatRecipes.com.

In my Part II blog post edition of “Eating My Way Through Atlanta,” I wanted to share with you our trip to Sweet Auburn Market in Atlanta. BlogHer bussed us to the market in between sessions to check out local fare in one of the neatest indoor markets I’ve ever seen, complete with animal parts galore, fresh produce and roots, sauces, seafood and even restaurant stands!

There’s so much to show you, so I’m going to show my pictures “Food Gawker” style, with a little commentary mixed in:

The food truck outside the market had barbecued pork:

Entering the market…which is the almost the size of a Costco!

We got to sample sweet potato cheesecake–yum!

I also gawked at the cupcakes.

If you’re a pork and beef eater and have a brave pallet, you’d be in heaven at this market!

There was also a gorgeous variety of seafood at the market, including shrimp, crab, scallops and more.

There were lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Let’s start with Georgia’s famous peaches!

There were some great restaurant stands in the market, including a southern-style deli, African-style food, exotic popcorn and more. (P.S. I tried the pickled popcorn and it was amazing!)

I ate at Atlanta’s famous Grind House hamburger stand.

The burger was as greasy and delicious as it looks. It came with crunchy crinkle fries.

I ended my market journey with some refreshing peach lemonade.
